Planning - Risk_Assessment

Risk Assessment:
Before we started filming we had to set up with a risk assessment for each location, this is for the safety of the all the actors and crew. So we had to look at what the risk could be, the likelihood of it happening (1 not at all - 10 extremely likely), the severity of the risk (1 not at all - 10 extremely likely) and finally the solution and response for the risk.

·         Alleyway:

Risk: Damaged camera equipment (tripod and camera knocked over),
Likelihood: 2/10
Severity: 6/10
Solution/Response: Be vigilant; avoid reckless behaviour, sand bags as weight for tripod legs if windy

Risk: Injury to actors (caused by tripping over camera equipment)
Likelihood: 1/10
Severity: 5/10
Solution/Response: Make actors aware of camera positions and movements

·         Alternative alleyway #1:

Risk: Disruption due to being a public walkway
Likelihood: 8/10
Severity: 1/10 (result of an unnecessarily lengthened shoot and lack of authenticity for the scene)
Solution/Response: Stay aware of pedestrians intending to pass though the alleyway, and therefore the shot.

·         Alternative alleyway #2:

Risk: Higher chance of disruption due to being public walkway near to supermarket
Likelihood: 9/10
Severity: 2/10 (result of an unnecessarily lengthened shoot and lack of authenticity for the scene)
Solution/Response: Stay aware of pedestrians intending to pass through the alleyway

·         Gate:

Risk: Passing cars on the road by the location
Likelihood: 9/10
Severity: 10/10 (possible serious injury or death)
Solution/Response: Staying aware of traffic on the road

Risk: Damaged camera equipment (tripod and camera knocked over into the road, run over by passing car)
Likelihood: 3/10
Severity: 8/10
Solution/Response: Be vigilant; avoid reckless behaviour, sand bags as weight for tripod legs if windy

·         Bridge:

Risk: Damaged camera equipment (camera falling in the river)
Likelihood: 4/10
Severity: 7/10
Solution/Response: Have someone be in possession of the camera at all times

Risk: Passing pedestrians affecting the authenticity needed for the scene/shot (e.g. acknowledging the presence of the camera)
Likelihood: 6/10
Severity: 3/10 (heightened possibility of larger amount of shots needing to be taken)
Solution/Response: Be patient, or wrap up the shot as best as possible in the shortest time

Risk: Passing cars on the road by the location
Likelihood: 9/10
Severity: 8/10 (filming will take place on the side of the pavement furthest from the road)
Solution/Response: Stay aware of traffic on the road, and keep filming equipment away from the road to prevent risk of it falling into the road and becoming damaged
