Film Script – Shot List

Scene 1 (Flashnack): Main character (Ben) is shown in a police interrogation room, wearing handcuffs:
·    Mid-shot - of Ben sitting at a table.
·    Slow zooming - into a close up shot of Ben as he recites his lines.
·    Close-up - of the small bag of cocaine which the police officer (played by Jack) puts in front of Ben.
Scene 2 (Bedroom): Ben wakes up in bed, gets up and gets ready:
·    Close-ups - of objects in Ben’s bedroom, e.g. alarm clock
·    High-angle/mid shot - of Ben as he turns off his alarm, turns on the lights and puts on his glasses before he leaves his bed
·    Wide shot - of Ben’s room as he proceeds to hastily get dressed and hide the small package of cocaine (shown in quick cut close-up) he has lying on the floor
Scene 3 (deleted scene): Ben exits his bedroom and goes to check on his Mum (played by Hayley) to bring her water and medicine:
·    Long shot - of the hallway outside Ben’s room as he exits and walks towards his mother’s bedroom door.
·    Transitions to a shot taken inside the darkened room of the door opening, letting in the light.
(This scene was taken away because of time constraints)
Scene 4 (House): Ben goes downstairs to sort out his brother and sister’s lunches and school supplies while they innocently play in the living room:
·    Long, continuous shot - of Ben walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.
·    Medium shot - of the children (played by Mason and Beau) playing in the lounge.
Scene 5 (Walking to school): Ben exits the house with his younger siblings and walks them to school:
·    Tracking shot, low-angle shot, close-ups (Combination) - of them walking across the bridge on Cromwell Road. 
·    Over the shoulder shot - of Ben walking behind his siblings, cautiously looking behind him.
Scene 6 (At School): Ben arrives at the school to drop off his brother and sister:
·    Medium shots - of Ben arriving outside the school’s reception entrance and entering to register the children at the front desk.
·    Pan shot - The kids run out of the reception area as the camera, still set up as a medium shot, pans to effectively show them leaving the scene.
Scene 7 (Leaving School): As he leaves the school’s reception, Ben bumps into Rachel, who asks him why he hasn’t been at school:
·     Short, unedited mid-shot - of Ben exiting reception and bumping into Rachel
·     Close-up - of Ben and Rachel talking
